Additional product information:

Building on the overwhelming success of the original Harsh Reality, a pearl version is a much needed addition. We kept the colors intact from the Harsh Reality Solid for the fans of the series and crafted the pearlized version. This is currently the only polished/pearl asymmetric and will be the most explosive backend reaction in the 900 Global lineup.

    Harsh Reality Pearl

Ball Specs: Harsh Reality Pearl Color: Orange/Silver/Black Coverstock: 902 Pearl Reactive Core: Disturbance AI Asymmetric Factory Finish: Reacta Gloss Review: The 900 Global Harsh Reality Pearl is a standout addition to 900 Global’s high-performance line, delivering a powerful yet controlled reaction on the lanes. Building on the success of the original Harsh Reality, this Pearl version brings added length and a sharper backend, making it an excellent choice for bowlers looking to tackle medium to heavy oil conditions with confidence. One of the key strengths of the Harsh Reality Pearl is its versatility. It performs exceptionally well on medium to heavy oil patterns, providing enough traction to handle oil while still offering the sharp backend needed to drive through the pins with authority. Whether you’re a power player looking to open up the lane or a more traditional player seeking a strong finish, this ball adapts well to various styles and conditions. The 900 Global Harsh Reality Pearl is an excellent choice for bowlers who need a reliable, high-performance ball that can handle medium to heavy oil with ease. Harsh Reality Pearl

Finally, a pearl reality back in the lineup! This one features all the latest and greatest from Storm Bowling Products; the A.I. core technology increases the core dynamics and really makes this ball unique. The Reality core has always been smooth and continuous, and paired with cleaner covers it has always been a house shot killer and a great 2-ball on flatter conditions. This ball is no exception. The earlier and longer hook phase characteristic of the A.I. core paired with 902 Reserve Blend Pearl makes for a clean, smooth, tippy pearl asym that compliments the rest of the product line. If you love pearl asyms for league or need a new one in your tournament arsenal, or are just a Reality fan, this one is definitely worth checking out! -Chase Valenzuela

    Harsh reality pearl

Layout on this one was 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 x 4. Gave me a nice pin down, early rolling layout. Heavy oil machine! Bowling in the collegiate level, you run into some pretty difficult shots. Whether it be super heavy, light, long or short. This one will tear up the heavier patterns with a touch of surface. Cleaner more down lane motion compared to the original harsh reality. Definitely a ball 1-2 in my bag! Go get one!

    Harsh Reality Pearl

The 900 Global Harsh Reality Pearl features the new Reserve Blend 902 pearl coverstock and the Disturbance A.I. asymmetric core. At 15 pounds the RG is a low 2.48 with a differential of .054 and an intermediate diff of .019. This ball is the perfect complement to the original Harsh Reality and then some. When the original starts to burn up and roll forward too soon, this is the perfect ball to pull out of your bag. The Harsh Reality Pearl can still handle the heavy volume oil just like its predecessor, but the pearl provides an added punch on the backend. While the original Harsh Reality is limited to how long I can stay with that ball, the pearl version offers much more usability on a wider array of lane conditions. Both the solid and the pearl need oil to be effective, but the pearl cover provides length on the medium conditions, as well as transitioned lane conditions. The Harsh Reality solid and pearl are a great one, two punch!!

The Harsh Reality Pearl excels in delivering a strong, angular backend reaction thanks to its high friction coverstock and pearlized finish. When compared to current offerings like the Roto Grip UFO Alert and the Storm Proton Physix, the Harsh Reality Pearl stands out for its more pronounced and sharper backend motion. The UFO Alert, with its hybrid coverstock, provides a more controlled and smoother transition, while the Proton Physix, known for its solid coverstock, delivers a more even and predictable roll. In contrast, the Harsh Reality Pearl’s aggressive nature makes it a go-to option for bowlers needing a ball that can tackle heavy oil patterns with a strong, dynamic backend reaction.

Welcome back as we have a great one for you from 900 Global! If you're a fan of these reviews I want to thank you for watching and reading these reviews and hope it gives you some information to take back when looking to get your next bowling ball. TESTING ENVIRONMENT Length:42 Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Broken Down House Shot BALL: 900 Global Harsh Reality Pearl Coverstock: : Reserve Blend 902 Cover Core: : Disturbance A.I. Asymmetric Core Finish: Reacta Gloss RG: 2.49 (14 Pounds) Differential: 0.054 (14 Pounds) MB/PSA: .019 (14 Pounds) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 14-15 mph Rev Rate: 210 PAP: 4 7/8 right 5/8 up Ball Layout: 5X3X4 Pin Down Using this ball on a true house shot showed the strength of what this ball is capable of being. I can say for sure and you can see from the video that this ball needs just a tad of friction. This ball is very clean and needs oil to stay on line. If you are a speed dominant player you could stay in this ball for some time, but for me with average speed and lower rev rate use this ball after I break down the lanes with a bigger stronger ball, but that allows me to know that it will be really good on a broken down pattern. In league I use this ball in game 2 or 3 after burning up the track with the OG Harsh Reality. The Harsh Reality Pearl is available today at Bowlers Choice Pro Shop inside Castle Lanes in Racine, WI or your local STORM VIP Pro Shop #Storm #SquadRG GoGlobal #VISE #BowlersChoiceProShop #3GShoes #IAmBowling (Code HIRSCH gets you 20% off) Check out my full ball reaction video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@onefrombills Brian Hirsch

    900 Global Harsh Reality Pearl

Drilling pattern: 4 3/8 x 4 1/2 x 2 5/8 Pin position: Above bridge PAP: 4 1/2 over by 1 up Next up. The Harsh Reality Pearl. I drilled this with the same layout as my new Harsh Reality looking for the step down when the solid version starts up a little too early or there is not enough head oil to accommodate the strong surface. Bowling on a slightly beat up THS, this ball got significantly further down the lane than the Harsh Reality and made a stronger move off the break point (as expected). The core in this ball is still strong enough to get the ball started in the oil, but the pearl coverstock still helps get adequate length before a pretty explosive backend reaction. I can certainly see this piece excelling on wet/dry league conditions or anytime a bigger solid, like a Harsh Reality or Gem, sees the front part of the lane too quickly and loses energy. Fantastic 1-2 punch with it's solid predecessor. Brent Ritchie Storm Pro Shop Staff Member

    Harsh Reality Pearl!

Posted by Joshua L. Shoemaker on Aug 10th 2024

The Harsh Reality Pearl features the same Disturbance AI core found in its big brother but is now wrapped in reserve blend 902 pearl. This creates a very familiar shape that was perviously found in balls like the Altered Reality and Eternity. I find myself throwing the Harsh Reality Pearl after my Harsh Reality and GEM start seeing the front part of the lane too much and going too forward downlane. The Harsh Reality Pearl is available for purchase from any Storm VIP pro shop today! Review Video: https://youtu.be/XjjpywMU_i0?si=5HazK6EVgerf_XM_

    Harsh Reality Pearl

900 Global Harsh Reality Pearl - 900 Series Coverstock: Reserve Blend 902 Pearl - Reacta Gloss Core: Disturbance A.I. RG: 2.48 Differential: .054 (15 lbs) PSA: .019 Layout: 5.5 x 4.25 x 4.5 PAP: 6" Right, 1 3/8" Up Axis Tilt: 16° Rotation: 51° Rev Rate: 450-500 Speed: 17-18 mph Location: Vista Lanes - Yorkville, NY Pattern: 2023 USBC Jr. Gold Lane Surface: HPL The Harsh Reality Pearl features the Reserve Blend 902 coverstock with Reacta Gloss and the Disturbance A.I. core. It is currently the only pearl asymmetric ball in the 900 Global lineup and will produce the most explosive backend reaction. The Harsh Reality Pearl will be the perfect compliment to the Harsh Reality Solid when you need a cleaner and more responsive reaction without giving up overall ball strength on heavier conditions. The Harsh Reality Pearl gave me a great look sliding on 30, looking 18 at the arrows with my breakpoint around 7-8. I was able to move left and not sacrifice ball motion and carry with speed and hand position adjustments. When compared to the Harsh Reality Solid, the Pearl was cleaner through the fronts and created more downlane motion. The Harsh Reality Pearl will be great after the Solid starts to burn up and you need a change of angle to improve your carry. It will be a number two ball on heavier tournament patterns and potentially the first ball out of my bag in league to combat the over/under. The Reality series have been reliable tournament balls for me over the past several seasons and I can see the Harsh Reality Pearl being a great addition to my arsenal. Harsh Reality Pearl Review

Posted by Thomas Coco on Aug 5th 2024

The Harsh Reality was a huge success in the 900 series lineup, it's now followed up with its pearl version, the Harsh Reality Pearl. Currently the only polished/pearl asymmetrical 900 ball on the market, the Harsh Reality Pearl brings back the Disturbance AI core along with the Reserve blend 902 pearl coverstock. I drilled mine at 50 x 5 x 35 to give the ball a smooth amount of control mid lane and save its energy for the backend. From a THS to a variety of sport patterns, I find this ball to be very comparable to the favorable DNA Coil (which I also have at a similar layout at 4.5" x 30). Reaction down lane, I found that the Harsh Reality Pearl is a lot cleaner than the coil, but still has that strong back-end motion. At certain times, I would find myself to put a little surface on the ball to get an earlier roll when it comes to bowling on medium/longer patterns but it still has that smooth backend reaction. This ball would fit well in my bag for a variety of patterns depending on surface as well as your THS. Be sure to drill one up from your local pro shop today!! Thomas Coco (storm staffer)
