Additional product information:
Often imitated and never duplicated... this is the famous Purple Pearl Urethane, and it’s finally back in the Hammer line.
Some skeptics said we couldn’t make a Black Widow, and it just happens to be one of the hottest balls on the market six months after its release. They’ll say the same thing about the Purple Pearl Urethane, and they’ll be wrong again. We realize the importance of this ball and have done extensive testing to make sure it is precisely what bowlers expect.
The core and cover materials are all the same, as is the reaction. The one difference you’ll notice is that we now offer the Purple Pearl Urethane in 12 and 13 pounds.

Great reaction
Ball has a great smooth flowing reaction when it hits the friction. Great for when you encounter short low volume patterns. Hit with 500 right after drilling and it really made the ball come to life.

Purple Hammer
It’s a great ball, the ball hooked a lot right out of the box. One I threw it some it calmed down and became very smooth and predictable. I threw a 638 series my first night in my league, and I’m only have a 168 average.. I highly recommend this ball !!

Purple Hammer
The Purple is the perfect addition to any arsenal that is looking for the control of urethane. The Purple is very controllable and hits hard when there is friction. I think this ball will perform best on shorter flatter patterns. This Ball is great for the tournament bowler!

Hammer Purple Pearl Urethane
Layout 5.5x5x3. Pap 6 1/8 over by 1/8 up. Very high track player. Ball speed 15.5 to 16.5 at cameras so roughly 17 to 18 off the hand. This is my first experience throwing urethane. The purple ball is a must when you want to get it out in front of you and control the pocket. If you get it to the dry early you will see a long sweeping arc. If you play up the oil you will see it go straight all the way to the end of the pattern and then make a small but snappy move to the pocket. It is no substitute for a good reactive ball but when conditions bring this ball into play it just can't be beat. I have thrown it on fresh and on the burn. When there is little room for error this ball is the goat.

Purple Hammer
The Hammer Purple Urethane is very strong for a urethane. If you were a fan of the original or just love Urethane than you need this ball. If your a tournament player you def need this ball in your bag. Great for shorter patterns and lighter oil. Most people I know I have two.

A motion I was missing!
Stats: PAP 4 over ¾ up, 14.5 mph, 18 tilt, 275 revs. The Hammer Purple Urethane is designed for light to medium oil conditions and short patterns. This is my first urethane ball and I was not sure what to expect, but I have had the opportunity to use it a few times now and appreciate the different motion I get from it. Being an average rev player, I cannot move too far left with it, but when the shot allows for a more direct approach, you cannot beat this ball. I think lower rev players may find urethane less useful, but it could have its place on really dry lanes or with added surface. This ball will be in my tournament bag going forward.

There is something special about this ball
Admittedly, I haven’t been able to throw a lot of urethane. Even though I am left-handed, my speed and rev rate doesn’t seem to typically match up to where urethane can be in play for me. This has changed, given the Purple Hammer. For me, this ball has the shape of a urethane ball but the look and power of a reactive resin ball. This ball will see a lot of action when the patterns are shorter – probably nothing longer than 38’ – and the volume is medium to heavy. This will help me get the ball down the lane, still retain some energy, and make a predictable move to the pocket. Recently, I competed in a PBA Regional on the Marshall Holman Pattern (38’), and I was able to play around the first arrow and get the ball to the pocket. The ball didn’t overreact, and the only time I had trouble with it was when I threw it through the breakpoint. This ball will be in my bag when traveling to tournaments and the upcoming league season when the lanes get a little over/under, and I’m looking for a piece to help me manage the pocket but still score. If you are a tournament bowler, you must have the Purple Hammer in your bag. There truly is something special about it.
