Phaze A.I.
Finally, a pearl Phaze is BACK!! But how does this one improve upon the most recent iteration, the Phaze V? First, the updated core features A.I. tech. So, longer continuation window, more gradual change of direction, and better carry. Second, the coverstock is TX-16 Pearl, a healthy step up from R2S Pearl which was featured on the Phaze V. With all of these things together, you get a Phaze that is true to the identity of Storm but also provides great length, continuation and versatility. With a cover that can handle more oil and a core that keeps going from bigger angles than the original, the Phaze A.I. is a really impressive piece that fills a gap and is SUPER useable on today's conditions. -Chase Valenzuela

Phaze AI Booms!
Sam Cooper. Roto Grip Amateur Staff. Man the Storm Phaze AI not only does this ball look sweet going down the lane it reacts just as good as it looks. The TX-16 pearl cover paired with the Velocity AI core will be a great combination for many different bowling styles. I went with a slightly different layout than I typically do with symmetrical pearls. I did a 5.5” pin with a 2.25” pin buffer. When this ball sees the friction, it turns for home in a big way. This feels like the “Storm Reaction” that we have been missing with some balls. There have been many times I will say to myself that ball is not making it back and it just runs the pocket over. If you are a Phaze 2 lover this ball will be the best compliment to one of the greatest balls of all time. The Phaze AI also has a new finishing polish called Power Edge. In comparison to Reacta Gloss, I think Power Edge gives you a more consistent read and also hooks more in oil. On the house shots if you miss the ball in the middle of the lane I feel it has a better chance of striking than previous polished balls. I personally am looking forward to trying more spheres with the Power Edge polish on it. I believe this ball is weaker than the Roto Grip Optimum Idol Pearl but stronger than the Storm Hyroad or 900 Global Xponent Pearl. This ball(if you leave it polished) will need some friction on the lane but when there is it will be a fun ball to throw. Like I said before the people that are going to love this ball the most is when your Phaze 2 is hooking too early or not going through the pins properly. Pull out the Phaze AI and let the best compliment to the Phaze 2 do the work for you.

Phaze A.I.
Storm Phaze A.I. Coverstock: TX-16 Pearl Reactive Finish: Power Edge Core: Velocity A.I. Core (14pd.) RG: 2.52 Differential: 0.052 Layout: 5 x 4 x 3 1/2 - 2LS Layout Extras: 2 1/8 Finger Depth, "X" - 4 1/2 D and 1 Inch Left Tester: PAP 6 1/2 R, 1 1/4 D Review: The Storm Phaze A.I. features the Velocity A.I. core and the TX-16 coverstock made famous on the Phaze II. The Phaze A.I. will be that perfect ball in the arsenal for your high to medium/medium type conditions where you want great continuous reaction through the pocket. At the OOB finish the all new Power Edge finishing process appears to be a home run. I was introduced to Power Edge early on in our MatchMaker kits. The surface appears tackier than Reacta Gloss. Also, in previous offerings Reacta Gloss, at times, has been known to be a touch smooth. The all new Power Edge applied to the Phaze A.I. will make this ball intriguing to bowling enthusiasts. The Phaze A.I. provides nice length and great motion off the spot. For this ball I have left the coverstock untouched at this time. If you are one that likes to hit the surface immediately a slightly worn 2000 Abralon pad should do the trick. In comparing the Phaze A.I. to the Phaze II I was pleasantly surprised the Phaze A.I. went through the front part of the lane more than I initially thought. Also, being finished with Power Edge versus a solid it makes sense the Phaze A.I. will pick up on the lane a little later than the Phaze II. Downlane the Phaze A.I. shows a distinct strong shape however it is not as jumpy as one might think making the Phaze A.I. versatile on a variety of conditions. Is the Phaze A.I strong? Yes, it sure is, but I did feel even when I got steep with my angles the Phaze A.I. did not quit. The Phaze A.I. will thrive and see more use with open v. closed angles. I'm definitely excited to test the Phaze A.I. over time and truly believe this flagship ball will be the best one to date. Phaze AI
Welcome back as we have a new release from Storm! I want to thank you for watching and reading these reviews and hope it gives you some information to take back when looking to get your next bowling ball. TESTING ENVIRONMENT Length:42 Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): House Shot BALL: Storm Phaze AI Coverstock: TX-16 Pearl Coverstock Core: : Velocity A.I. Core Finish: Power Edge RG: 2.52 (14 Pounds) Differential: 0.052 (14 Pounds) MB/PSA: NA (14 Pounds) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 13-14 mph Rev Rate: 210 PAP: 4 7/8 right 5/8 up Ball Layout: 5x3x4 The return of the benchmark ball is here. Personally I have not had much success with any Phaze balls that came after the Phaze lll. I was really looking to the Phaze AI as technology changes and involves and I like what I am seeing in the SPI AI balls. This ball also has the all new Power Edge polish making this ball a little different from the ones before. With the release of the ION Pro which in my opinion is a stronger version of the Phaze AI makes the Phaze Al lower than the benchmark line. When we were testing we were on a fresh THS and started up the outside and it never saw the friction so I moved left and moved left and I just never saw the motion I was looking for. I did hit the ball with a 2000 pad to remove the polish much like I used to do with React Gloss as I found the balls never touched the lane and missed the friction. With some surface the ball started to “see it” just a tad but never felt like this was going to be a first or second ball out of the bag. I can really see this ball having success when there was less oil, shorter pattern or later in a set or block. I will continue to see if this ball will stay in the bag by using it after league and see if I can get it dialed in a little better. Storm Phaze AI
Storm Phaze AI Review Layout VLS-5x4 3/8x2 5/8 Dual Angle-55x5x38 Surface-Storm Power Edge Storm Bowling has continued the Phaze series with the new Phaze AI which features the velocity core with AI Technology wrapped with the TX-16 in a pearl version. Phaze AI will be a great compliment to the Phaze 2 it will be longer than Phaze 2 with a stronger backend. Compared to the other Phaze pearl balls the Phaze AI will read the midlane better with still a strong continuous motion on the backend without missing breakpoint. For me Phaze AI will be a great step down after throwing my Ion Pro or Phaze 2 when the lane transitions and I need more length and a stronger backend. The Phaze AI with the new Storm Power Edge finish creates nice length with a stronger backend.

Phase AI
The Storm Phase AI bowling ball has arrived, and it’s already making waves in the bowling community. As an avid bowler and a fan of Storm products, I was eager to put the Phase AI to the test and see how it stacks up against its predecessor, the Storm Phase 2. The Phase AI retains the impressive design elements that made the Phase 2 a favorite among bowlers while incorporating advanced technology that enhances performance. The Phase AI features the new “AI” core, which is designed to provide a more controlled reaction compared to the original Phase 2 core. In terms of overall hook potential, the Phase AI surpasses the Phase 2. The combination of the AI core and the TX-16 coverstock allows for an aggressive hook motion that responds well to both oil patterns and varying lane conditions. Whether you’re on a fresh shot or dealing with heavy carrydown, the Phase AI hooks consistently and offers versatility across different environments. While the Storm Phase 2 had its strengths in mid-lane read and backend recovery, the Phase AI takes it a step further. The backend reaction is noticeably improved, offering a more defined change of direction without sacrificing the smoothness that bowlers appreciate. One of the standout features of the Phase AI is its adaptability. During my tests, I was able to use it effectively on both fresh and burnt lanes. In conclusion, the Storm Phase AI takes and old favorite and makes it event better. While the Phase 2 remains a solid choice, the advancements found in the Phase AI’s core make it a worthy investment for bowlers looking to elevate their game. Its combination of a manageable hook, controllability, and versatility on the lanes makes it a must-try for both competitive and recreational bowlers alike. If you're seeking a ball that can handle a variety of conditions and offer a reliable reaction, the Storm Phase AI should definitely be on your radar. Sean Daniels 900 Global Staffer Hillsboro, OR

Phaze AI Review
Everyone knows the Phaze 2 is one of the most iconic Storm balls they have ever produced. Fast forward 8 years later, it has returned, this time with an upgraded pearl version. Using the Velocity Core with AI technology and the TX-16 Pearl Coverstock, finished with the new Power Edge polish, the Storm Phaze AI brings back the glory days of the Phaze 2!! I drilled my layout at 50 x 5 x 35. I tested it on at my home center's (Cortlandt Lanes) 45ft 27mLs house shot and the Phaze AI did not disappoint. The ball gave me a stronger midlane read, and with a finish polish, I saw more angle at the end, something we have not seen with previous pearl Phazes. I found more transition once the lanes broke down and was able to move right, giving the ball more track area and still that big angular motion. Even playing in the oil, the Phaze AI is still very controllable. While I wasn't able to compare it to the Phaze 2, I threw the Summit Ascent (70 x 5 3/8 x 40) for comparison, since they are both symmetrical pieces. With the Solid Coverstock, it has similar shape as the Phaze, reading the midlane early, but with a smooth finish to not overreact into the pocket. I would find the Ascent and Phaze AI to be your 1-2 punch on fresh conditions (mostly medium-high volume patterns). I highly recommend this ball, especially if you are a fan of the Phaze 2, this would be the complimentary version!! Be sure to stop by your local pro shop and drill up a Phaze AI today!! This makes it ideal for a wide range of lane conditions, from medium to heavy oil. Compared to earlier Phaze models, the AI offers a more forgiving ball motion, making it easier to control and adjust to varying lane conditions. Phaze AI
Phaze AI Dual Angle Layout One: 45 x 2 x 45 Storm Vector Layout One: 2 x 5 3/8 x 1 3/8 Dual Angle Layout Two: 70 x 3 ¾ x 20 Storm Vector Layout Two: 3 ¾ x 5 3/8 x 1 1/8 The Storm Phaze AI features the TX-16 Pearl Reactive cover stock wrapped around the Velocity AI Core and also features the all new smooth edge polish. The first Phaze I drilled with a short pin layout to allow myself to combat over/under reaction at my primary league house. This ball give me a nice smooth roll with plenty of backend pop and hitting power. My 2nd AI I drilled with a typical long and strong layout. The smooth edge polish in combination with the TX-16 Pearl Reactive cover gave me a reaction I’ve never seen from Storm in the past. The ball really dug its teeth in the mid lane but still was clean and strong on the backend. When this ball made its move, it continued through the pins with more power then any other Storm Pearl I’ve thrown in the past.
