Additional product information:

Since their conception back in 2016, the Hustle Series of bowling balls has provided outstanding performance above and beyond the retail price. From the 34th sanctioned 900 Series by the HustleTM INK, to countless TV appearances over the years on both the PBA & PWBA Tours. The various versions of the Hustle's have provided consistent reactions time and time again.

And while the inner Hustle Core has remained the same since day one, it's the different variations of the VTCTM (Versatile Traction Control) Coverstock - Solid, Pearl & Hybrid, that have kept this line viable on those Light to Medium Oil conditions for every level of bowler from the first-timers, all the way up to the pros.

    Hustle XRAY

Posted by Zachary Woelfel on Aug 20th 2024

The Roto Grip Hustle Xray has quickly become a key player in my bowling lineup, delivering exceptional performance and versatility on the lanes. Equipped with the advanced Hustle core and the rugged R3S coverstock, this ball provides a dependable and controlled reaction that shines on medium to heavy oil patterns. Compared to other balls in the Hustle series, such as the Hustle BRY, the Xray offers a more pronounced backend reaction and better traction on oilier conditions, making it a great choice when more control and power are needed. Its smooth, predictable motion allows me to navigate various lane conditions with ease, while its durability ensures consistent performance frame after frame. Plus, the striking visual design adds a bold statement to my gear. Overall, the Hustle Xray’s superb balance of control and power sets it apart within the lineup, making it a valuable asset for elevating my game.

Roto Grip Hustle X-Ray ball review

Posted by Mike Craig on Aug 13th 2024

I drilled up my HUSTLE XRAY with my standard 4.5 x 4 x 2 layout that I use on lower diff balls. I have tweaked the surface at 1500 to 3000. The XRAY is a pleasant surprise. With the 1500 surface, the XRAY is just under my better sym balls like the OPTIMUM IDOL & PHAZE II. The XRAY is one that I can keep in front of me and still get good roll off the medium patterns when they get a little wet/dry. I can also ball up to the OPTIMUM or PHAZE II when I get pushed left or ball down to the TNT INFUZED when I need to open up the lane to the right. Roto Grip nailed another lower price/high functionality piece that will work for starters or high-end players.

    House Shot Monster

Posted by Zack Newman on Jul 24th 2024

What more can be said about the Hustle line that hasn't already been said? It is without a doubt the best "bang for your buck" in bowling. The VTC cover with the Hustle core has the 34th sanctioned 900 series under it's belt, along with countless other honor scores and accolades. The VTC Solid cover on the Hustle X-Ray provides the ultimate control of the lane from front to back, allowing the player to dictate what the ball does and where it does it. I drilled mine very strong with a 3.5x2x0 layout and it's as smooth and continuous as you could ever want out of a weaker core with a strong cover. It gets down the lane easier than my Hyped Solid, a good 5-7 longer before it starts making it's motion. It's a great benchmark type motion for light oil and drier house shots!

    Hustle X-Ray

Hustle X-Ray - Ball Specs Cover Stock: VTC Solid Reactive Finish: 4000 Grit Abralon Color: Slate/Black Core: Hustle Core RG: 2.53 Differential: 0.030 Review The Roto Grip has added two more Hustles to this iconic ball line, the Hustle X-Ray and B/R/Y. The Hustle X-Ray is the stronger of the new Hustles, which features the iconic Hustle Core wrapped in the VTC solid reactive cover. As a medium to low rev player, this ball being great on medium to light oil patterns. There will be no issues playing in the track area and down and in up the five board. The Hustle X-Ray reads the lanes a little earlier than the Hustle RIP. The Hustle X-Ray is a must have for league and tournament bowlers. Now available for preorder at your local pro shop! X Ray

Posted by Anthony S on Jun 21st 2024

HAND: LEFT (ONE HANDED) PAP: 4 3/8 OVER / 1/16 UP BALL SPEED: 16MPH REV RATE: 420 AXIS TILT: 20 AXIS ROTATION: 50 LAYOUT: 60X5X65 The Hustle X-Ray a new color addition to the reliable and hard working Hustle line up. The Hustle Core is paired up with the VTC Solid Reactive Coverstock to give you quality performance on the lighter to medium oil conditions. This ball typically finds its way into my league bag week in and week out due to less oil being put out during league play. With there being so much friction to the outside of most league patterns the Hustle X-Ray doesn’t over hook off the friction for me and has just enough when I miss into the oil in the middle of the lane thanks to its solid coverstock. Compared to the Hustle BRY my X-Ray gives me a better look in games 1 and 2 when there's a little more oil on the lanes, it also is a little smoother than the BRY which is why it comes out of the bag earlier. Players who are just getting into bowling will find this ball a has great performance for the price point and players who have bowled for years will love how it can fit into bottom of your arsenal on light to medium oil patterns.

    Hustle X-Ray Review

Posted by Thomas Coco on Jun 10th 2024

The Hustle makes its return, this time with the X-Ray, which has the original Hustle core with the Symmetrical VTC Solid Coverstock. I drilled my pin up layout at 60 x 4.5 x 30 to give the ball more length and controllable backend. It does not disappoint! When it comes to bowling on high friction surfaces and shorter patterns, I try to level up from my IQ 78 and with the urethane carry down, I can open up my angles and receive more down lane carry. I find the Hustle XRay to work really well on short-medium conditions. This ball will definitely be a staple in my bag. And not only that, for a great entry level ball, the value exceeds its expectations! Drill one up from your local pro shop today!! Thomas Coco (storm staffer)

    Roto Grip Hustle X-Ray

Posted by Glenn W on Jun 5th 2024

Ball Specs: Roto Grip Hustle X-Ray Cover stock VTC Solid Reactive Weight Block Hustle™ Core (Symmetrical) Color Slate/Black Finish 4000 Abralon Layout 4.5 x 4.5 x 1.5 Pin Buffer Bowler Specs: Right Hand. PAP 5” Over 1/2 up Rev Rate 300. Tilt 20. Rotation 50. Speed at release 17 Review: I really like the Hustle series and my customers are always happy with this line of balls. I recommend and use the Hustles myself with confidence. The Hustle line rolls and hits like a much more expensive ball. I use the Hustles in two of the dryer houses I sometimes bowl at and have shot very well with them. I am subbing tonight on a lower volume house shot and the X-Ray will be definitely in the bag. The Hustle line was designed to be predictable with great performance and they do not disappoint. The New Hustle X-Ray is a cool looking ball and I have seen the colors vary quite a bit in the pours. My X-Ray is almost completely dark grey but I have seen some with a lot of light grey. They all look great and standout on the shelf. The X-Ray rolls smoother than my B-R-Y with the B-R-Y being a bit longer and more angular. I do like the 4000 finish on the X-Ray because it gets it to a predicable almost polished feel. I drilled the B-R-Y and X-Ray at the same time with the same layout and threw them at a few centers together. The total boards are close but the shapes are different. I would put this ball above my Surge and below my Tour Dynamix in total hook. This X-Ray has an eye catching new look and is a great choice for newer bowlers or the rev dominate bowler. Summary: The Hustle X-Ray has a cool new eye catching color. This ball provides control on lower volumes. This will be a great ball for new or rev dominate bowlers. Hustle X-Ray

Posted by Todd Benner on May 24th 2024

The Hustle X-Ray features the same Hustle core but this model comes wrapped in the VTC solid reactive coverstock finished at 4000 grit abralon. At 15 pounds the RG is medium at 2.53 and the differential is .030. The Hustle line continues to provide bowlers with excellent performance at the entry level price point. Don’t let the price tag fool you…this ball delivers a lot of bang for your buck! The X-Ray with it’s solid coverstock and finish, provides good length but the response time is on the slow side and the backend motion is an arc. All of this allows me to keep my angles closed while playing close to the friction. When compared to the Hustle BRY, the X-Ray is about 2 -3 boards right with my feet. This ball will be one of my go to balls on the lighter and shorter oil patterns.

    Great Starter

Posted by Thomas Szczepaniak on May 22nd 2024

The Hustle X-Ray is a very controllable symmetrical solid and has work great for me on some shorter patterns. I don’t normally keep these in my normal rotation due to where I bowl regularly but it will definitely be coming with me on some more challenging conditions.

    Roto Grip Hustle XRAY

Posted by Kevin Duncan on May 12th 2024

Roto Grip Hustle BRY and Hustle XRAY Layout: 4.0 x 4.0 x 2 Storm Pin Buffer Layout Rev Rate: 325 rpm, 7 degree of axis tilt, 40 degree of axis rotation Testing information: 41 foot THS (medium to light volume) Bowling Center: Fulton Bowling Center Kegel Machine – Brunswick Anvilane Roto Grip’s Hustle BRY utilizes the VTC Hybrid coverstock and the Hustle core, while the Hustle XRAY uses the VTC Solid coverstock and Hustle core. Can you say Value? Value is when the performance beats the expectations. This is what you get with the Hustle line. The Hustle BRY and Hustle XRAY, the newest entries into the HP1 line, are the definition of value. Both have their place. The Hustle XRAY is earlier and smoother down lane where the Hustle BRY is cleaner in the fronts and more boom down lane. Pick the one that fits the gap in your bag or buy both. Lol. If you bowl in a high friction bowling center, the BRY is probably the best answer. The XRAY will be the better choice for bowlers wanting to keep their target in front of them and play straighter.
