Storm Ion Pro Review
The Ion Pro is one of the new additions to the Premier line at Storm. Using a well renowned cover (TX-16) and a new weight block with the addition of A.I. core tech, this ball was destined for greatness before putting holes into it! I experienced immediate success with this ball on multiple patterns, from multiple angles! Being a huge fan of the !Q, this redefinition on a benchmark ball is refreshing! Not too strong, not too clean, not over responsive. Simply, a great combo of control and POWER. The lower diff tells us that it shouldn’t flare much. The motion is very readable and the subtle color of the ION PRO, makes it even easier to read as she travels down the lane. I went with my favorite VLS layout on this of 4.75x5.75x2. For me, this put my thumb almost through the mass bias. The ION Pro has become a staple in my bag and I take it everywhere with me. This is often the first ball out of my bag on league nights and tournaments. For a twist on it, I added some Power Edge to it to see how it handles coverstock changes and it still is a treat! #StormNation

Storm ion Pro
The new ball in the Storm Premier line is the Storm Ion Pro. Can you say benchmark ball! This is a ball that has been missing from the storm line, a low diff low RG asymmetrical bowling ball. I drilled mine 4 1/2 x 4 x4x2 pin up. The ION pro is a perfect combo of length and strength. Not too early or a huge backend motion. ION just gives you control. 2 handers absolutely loves the ION. The ION pro is a good compliment to the other staples in the lineup Phaze 2 and IQ Tour. Not as early as a Phaze 2 and not as much on backend as an IQ. Great ball and sales have been great. A true winner from Storm. Brian Watson PAP 3 7/8 up 1 1/8 RPM - 400 TILT - 17 MPH - 16-17

New IQ Tour
IQ tour reimagined, with the asymmetric core and the hybrid version of the phaze cover. This ball is very clean through the fronts hooks in the midlane and is very continuous off the spot never missing the 1-3. This ball is the most controllable shape storm has produced since the introduction of the !Q tour. If you want a controllable, upgraded version of the !Q tour this is the ball for you!

Storm Ion Pro Ball Review by PJ Haggerty
The Ion Pro is the latest addition to the Premier line at Storm. After drilling an Ion Pro and having success with it, I consider this my “benchmark” ball. It’s not too strong, not too clean, not too early, and not too responsive. It’s essentially, everything you’d want in a benchmark ball. With an RG of 2.47 but a differential of .035, this tells us that the ball wants to read the lane early, but it’s not going to flare a lot. If you ever drilled the extremely popular IQ from Storm, it had a similar differential and was widely successful. When comparing it to the IQ, the Ion Pro is made to be stronger and provide a quicker response time. I’ve drilled one so far and really like it. I’ve mapped it out as 5.5 x 5 x 2. This puts the pin near my bridge and the mass bias just to the right of my thumb. It rolls exactly as described up above. It’s not too much of any one motion, but just simply, predictable. I’ve been able to use it mainly on short-medium patterns, but it’s definitely earned a spot in my bag. If you’re missing one of those benchmark pieces in your bag that you can rely on to see what type of pattern you’re competing on, I’d drill an Ion Pro! #StormNation

Storm Ion Pro
Layout: 55 x 4 3/8 x 35 The uniqueness of the Ion Pro is the first thing that comes to mind – when it is at a fresh 4000 out of box finish (or brought down to 3000, depending on the oil pattern), this ball is the prototypical benchmark ball that it is marketed to be. However, if the ball is allowed to get lane shined up past 4000, the backend reaction is markedly sharper. This adds a layer of versatility to the usability of the Ion Pro. For myself, on fresh conditions, I preferred a fresh 3000 surface to add more midlane roll and predictability on medium to medium-heavy conditions. In my arsenal, this ball fits between the 900 Global Sublime Focus (for heavy oil) and the Storm Phaze AI (for medium oil).

Ultimate Control
The Storm Ion Pro is an exceptional choice for bowlers seeking a versatile ball that performs well across various lane conditions just as the IQ Tour did. Featuring the innovative AI Core, this ball provides a strong mid-lane read and impressive continuation through the pins, perfectly complementing my high-rev style. The TX-16 coverstock further enhances performance, offering an ideal balance of traction and responsiveness for medium to heavy oil patterns. On the lanes, the Ion Pro truly shines, delivering a powerful and predictable hook that boosts my confidence with every shot. It excels on fresh oil, allowing for a strong entry angle, and adapts seamlessly as the lanes transition. This versatility makes it a valuable addition to my arsenal, whether I'm competing in a league or honing my skills during practice. Overall, the Storm Ion Pro combines advanced AI core technology with the high-quality TX-16 coverstock, making it a standout choice for bowlers looking to elevate their game.

ION Pro
The Storm ION Pro bowling ball is a noteworthy addition to Storm's lineup, boasting impressive technology and performance characteristics that make it a strong contender for both competitive and casual bowlers. Having had the opportunity to test it thoroughly, I would like to offer a comparative review against the beloved Storm Phase 2, which has been a staple in many bowlers' arsenals since its release. The ION Pro features Storm's Element Tour AI core, designed to provide a strong mid-lane read while creating a smooth and controllable backend reaction. The coverstock is composed of the TX-16 Pearl, which allows for versatility across different lane conditions. In contrast, the Phase 2 incorporates the Velocity core and the TX-16 Solid coverstock, well-known for its ability to offer a powerful mid-lane performance and a little less backend reaction than the ION Pro. When rolling the ION Pro, you can expect a consistently smooth arc and reliable continuation down the lane. It performs particularly well on medium oil patterns, allowing bowlers to feel comfortable making adjustments without overreacting. The ball's ability to maintain its energy until the pins adds to its appeal for those looking to achieve striking consistency. In contrast, the Phase 2 has a reputation for being a more versatile option across varying oil patterns. Its strong backend reaction makes it a favorite among bowlers who enjoy playing outside the track or taking advantage of transitioning lane conditions. When it comes to feel, both balls deliver an excellent response from the lanes. Sean Daniels 900 Global Staff Hillsboro, Oregon

Ion Pro
The New Storm Ion Pro is the next step in dependable and controllable ball motion. The Element Tour A.I. core offers a low RG, medium differential, and mild asymmetry. This combination offers the midline read of asymmetric equipment, but the smooth and stable ball reaction seen out of equipment like the IQ Tour and Phaze 2. I drilled my Ion Pro 4.75x4x4 2ls which is my benchmark asymmetric layout. Given that the Ion Pro has TX-16 hybrid overstock, I knew that this was going to be a transition ball because it was not going to be too early through the fronts but its not as clean as the Tour Dynam-x from the previous year. This ball handles surface changes surprisingly well and can definitely be used when the patters are just dead hard or cliffed up on the fresh with just a medium amount of volume.

Ion Pro redefines the meaning benchmark
The Ion Pro is an impressive addition to the Storm lineup, designed to serve as a versatile ball that redefines the meaning of “benchmark” for everyone. The Element ™ Tour A.I. Core combine with the TX-16 Hybrid cover stock, and changing the finish on my Ion Pro to 2000-grit abralon. This make it ideal for players that swing the lane like me. You can count on the Ion Pro to be clean through the front part of the lane, but also smooth traction in the mid-lane with a predictable motion and had a continuous finish. I fell the Ion Pro stay on line longer and give you forgiveness when you miss your target slightly. It also does a very amazing job at blending out the pattern. I fell the Storm Ion Pro lives up to the hype. Being versatile for all bowlers, and everyone should have one in their bag! And what makes the Ion Pro such a success is that Storm has developed something every straighter player like me has been waiting for – an asymmetrical benchmark ball that delivers enormous results! The Ion Pro combines the Element Tour A.I. Core with the TX-16 Hybrid Reactive coverstock. And together they make the Ion Pro a ball that belongs in any serious bowler's arsenal! So, let's take a closer look at The Ion Pro. The Element Tour A.I. Core asymmetric design leaves plenty of room for any pro shop operator to tweak a layout to get the most out of the Ion Pro. And with that tweaking ability, I found the Element Tour A.I. core to be stable and consistent. I liked how the Element Tour core revs smoothly through the mid-lane without sacrificing the energy at the exit of the pattern. Further, I found the Element Tour A.I. Core crisp and vibrant as it heads to the pins without being overly aggressive. And because of its uniquely smooth asymmetrical design, the Element Tour A.I. Core strikes the pins with the precision of a symmetrical core but with the power of its asymmetrical design! Lastly, the Element Tour A.I. Core is far from lazy! So, if you are a straighter player like me, you will appreciate the Element A.I. Core's ability to stand up and roll with authority even when you know you missed! You can trust the Element A.I. Core to fight for you every shot! When it comes to coverstocks – you can't get any more consistent than the TX-16 Hybrid! The solid version of the TX-16 was on the Phaze II, and how long has the Phaze II been around? Exactly! So, it's no wonder Storm used a Hybrid Version of the TX-16 on the Ion Pro – it is that good! The TX-16 Hybrid at the factory 4000-grit surface is ideal for straighter players like me. You can count on the TX-16 Hybrid to be clean through the front part of the lane. And I loved how the TX-16 Hybrid had smooth traction in the mid-lane, giving me the predictable motion I needed to see as my Ion Pro made its way down the lane. And what I loved most about the TX-16 Hybrid is its ability to be consistent through an entire night of league conditions. The TX-16 bites crisply on fresh oil but also blends the broken-down pattern equally as well making the TX-16 the benchmark skid, hook and roll you can depend on! In closing, Storm has done an outstanding job creating the Ion Pro! And I will boldly say the Ion Pro delivers what Storm claimed it would -the Asymmetrical benchmark ball that sets the new standard in reliability! And if you are a straighter player like me, that reliability belongs in your arsenal! So, stop into your local Strom VIP Pro Shop and have our Ion Pro ready to roll. And be prepared for that asymmetrical benchmark reliability you have been waiting for! The Ion Pro is well worth the investment!
