Level UP!
I had the Level drilled at 65 x 3 3/8 x 35. My launch ball speed is at 16 mph. This ball gives me an earlier read once it reads the friction and a nice smooth continuation through the pin deck. I'm able to go a little left to shape it, but I must keep the same ball speed, and keep this ball closer to the friction. This is a good to start off on thRead more about review stating Level UP!e fresh, and I'm able to keep my angles tighter to pocket. The AI core definitely provides more punch and pin action. This ball is great for anyone that wants a smooth, yet continuous motion to the pocket, and is a ball designed for all styles; from the croker to the cranker, and definitely great option for two handers. I'm a one-handed tweener and I enjoyed throwing this ball! Once the coverstock settles in, this ball is absolutely amazing! I'm definitely getting another one with a different layout to have a different motion! This ball is a gamechanger!

Storm Level
Storm Level Ball Review Layout-VLS 4x4x1 Surface -1000 Grit Dull Storm has created a unique ball motion here with the new Level. The level will bridge the gap between your urethane and reactive bowling balls but with a very smooth ball motion. The level is a reactive ball with a quicker oil absorption rate then your typical urethane balls and maintain its surface grit for a longer period of time. I compared the Level against the IQ Tour 78/U and the Level was about 3-5 boards stronger with more midlane motion than the 78/U. I feel like the Level will be a great on those shorter oil patterns or on those wet/dry house patterns. For me the Level will be a great option will my 78\U isn’t enough or when I still want urethane shape but not ready for my bigger symmetrical solids. Storm Level
Storm Level Coverstock: Regenerative Polymer Matrix (RPM) Finish: 1000 Grit Abralon Core: Equalizer A.I. (14pd.) RG: 2.60 Differential: 0.026 Layout: 4 x 4 x 4 5/8 - 2LS Layout Extras: 2 1/8 Finger Depth, "X" - 4 1/2 D and 1 Inch Left Tester: PAP 6 1/2 R, 1 1/4 D Viewable Review: https://youtu.be/UK6fJOyFQOY?si=N0fjC-SZszOpGmya Review: The all new cover/core Level from SPI is a new standard for smoother transition on house patterns and should shine on short oil patterns. The new Equalizer core is designed to respond slower to friction providing the player maximum control. The RPM coverstock is where the "new" comes into play. This coverstock absorbs oil allowing the player to stay in the Level longer than traditional urethane type offerings. When the initial announcement came out from SPI regarding the Level I already had the mindset that as long as I'm not rolling in a PBA event, I'll stick with the Pitch Black and Fast Pitch offerings. To my surprise the Level created more shape then my Pitch Black and was more usable after a few games compared to the Fast Pitch. In addition, the Level transitioned smoother down the lane compared to the Tropical Surge Navy/Purple. As for the !Q Tour 78-U, the Level will shape more for most style of players. Pro Tip: For those that traditionally tend to dislike urethane or urethane-ish offerings, don't hesitate to surface your new ball to a higher grit like 3K or 4K than gradually bring the surface down to your 1K or 500K grit. The reason being most bowlers dislike the early motion of the ball oob and give up before letting the lane shine and peaks of the ball to settle in a bit. If you have had this experience previously give the surface suggestion the "good old college try". I think this pro tip might just work for you. I think you may find a great use for this ball when planning out your tournament adventures. I highly recommend the Level. Storm Level
Drilling pattern: 5 x 3 PAP: 4.5 over x 1 up Pin position: Above and left of middle finger This ball features a brand new core/cover combination with some pretty cool technology. From my understanding, it’s a urethane-esque shape, but with significant oil absorption instead of oil dragging that you see with a typical urethane bowling ball. That information right there was enough to sell me on the ball. It does come pretty dull, out of the box at 1000 grit, but in the shots that I threw, it didn’t really act like a normal 1000 grit reactive ball. I bowled on a fresh THS and was able to stand much further right than I typically would with any reactive piece and the ball shaped very well. When I was forced to throw urethane, the second I had to move even the slightest bit left I was caught in a 4 pin/flat 10 pin reaction that would get incredibly frustrating. With this, I was able to move left and still watch the ball shape off the dry, and have a very nice rounded motion downlane without running out of steam. Even at a dull surface it still wouldn’t read the lane as early as urethane and maintained energy downlane much better. I can certainly see this being a great piece for sport patterns, the Open Championships, or even for some drier house patterns when swinging the lane isn’t working. A very interesting release from the people at Storm and one I’m looking at using in a plethora of tournaments. Brent Ritchie SPI Pro Shop Staff Member

Level
My PAP is 4 5/8" right and 11/16" up, and I’m using a 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" layout. I’ve never had much success throwing urethane, but the Level has completely changed the game for me. While it’s not urethane, it offers a similar motion, making it a great option for shorter and fresh oil patterns. The combination of the new Regenerative Polymer Matrix (RPM) coverstock and the symmetrical Equalizer A.I. Core™ gives me a smooth, consistent roll, making every shot feel controlled and predictable. The Level is the exciting debut of the Lab Series, a line built to push the boundaries of bowling technology. What sets it apart is the groundbreaking RPM coverstock—an entirely new material with physical properties never seen before in the industry. Unlike traditional coverstocks that wear down, RPM maintains its surface integrity, delivering a consistent and predictable ball motion over time. At the heart of the Level is the Equalizer A.I. Core™, a tall, low-density weight block designed for a higher RG. This allows for a smooth, controlled transition without sacrificing differential or consistency. The result? Unmatched repeatability and shot-to-shot reliability. If you’re looking for a ball that delivers predictability, control, and innovation, the Level is a game-changer.

The LAB brings you the LEVEL
TESTING ENVIRONMENT Length:42 Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): House Shot BALL: Storm LEVEL Coverstock: RPM Solid Coverstock Core: : Equalizer A.I. Core Finish: 1000 Grit RG: 2.60 (14 Pounds) Differential: 0.026 (14 Pounds) MB/PSA: N/A (14 Pounds) ME: Right-Handed Tweener Speed: 13-14 mph Rev Rate: 210 PAP: 5 1/2 right 1/4 up Ball Layout: 3x4x1 The Lab Series is the future of exclusive bowling ball performance. The LEVEL is the first ball in this new line. The LEVEL tho not urethane is going to give you that same-ish reaction. Like a urethane they hook quickly in the heads and just roll. What I have seen from this ball is it floats in the front part of the lane and will hook up without breaking off line too quickly. For me when I have surface on this ball looks great but after a game or so it tends to get too clean and I have to jump into a ball like the new 900 Global Zen 25 on the house shot. I am going to shine this ball up and see what it does with polish as recommended by Matt Mcneil. The video is live on Youtube and you can see an early hook with a fresh surface and then where it tames down and Darrell saw the same thing on the left side of the lane. Level Review
Layout: 4 x 4 x 1.5 Surface: 1000 Abralon Tilt: 13* Rotation: 60* RPM: 470 The new Level is a brand-new design in the newly formed Storm Lab Series. The Level was designed to mimic a urethane-like shape while being completely resin. The new Equalizer AI Core was designed to have a high RG and low differential just like traditional urethane cores. The coverstock is the new RPM (Regenerative Polymer Matrix) cover which is designed to be predictable and keep its surface finish for a longer period of time. I got to test this ball on my 44ft Typical House Pattern and a 40ft Sport Pattern. On the House Pattern, the Level gave me early hook and a continuous ball reaction in the back part of the lane. Unlike more traditional pieces, the Level gave me a consistent backend motion that did not stop because of the lower volume of oil. I was able to use the ball on the fresh more up the lane in order to tame the backend down where the lanes wanted to over hook with normal resin. Due to my higher rev rate, the lanes broke down a little quicker than I anticipated, and I had to put the ball back down after about 6 frames of use. For game 2, I went back to normal resin and opened up the lane like I traditionally would. In this instance, the level gave more of that urethane feel where the differential is too low to give enough of a pop down lane. In game 3 where the lanes became wet/dry, the Level was great once again. I was able to move back to the right and closer to the friction and go back up the lane once again. The low differential here actually helped the ball get through the front while the continuation of the ball gave me ample room left and right of target. On the 40ft sport pattern, I saw more urethane-like ball reaction. It gave me early roll and control at the back part of the lane. Compared to the IQ 78U, I did see more continuation down lane while giving that early hook we expect with urethane. When the lanes are challenging, this level certainly is the answer. The Level is more forgiving down lane while still reading the pattern very well. It has consistent motion without losing its dull surface. This ball would be best used for medium to shorter lane conditions where straighter ball motion makes the most sense. While it does give more left to right motion then traditional urethane, it was more successful with straighter angles through the front of the lane. In conclusion, The Level is a really nice step between urethane and resin balls. It gives the early motion of urethane while giving more distinct continuation like resin. I would recommend this ball to bowlers who like to use urethane but don't like how urethane breaks the lanes down, bowlers who are looking for a fresh option on medium to shorter length conditions or those looking to control those wet/dry house conditions. Level
Dual Angle Layout: 55 x 5 x 25 Storm Vector Layout: 5 x 4 3/8 x 1 ¾ The Level features an all-new cover stock material, the RPM (Regenerative Polymer Matrix), which is wrapped around the Equalizer AI Core. This ball, in my opinion, is the Storm equivalent to the Hammer NU Blue. This ball is the perfect bridge between Urethane and Reactive. As someone who struggles to throw Urethane, this ball is exactly what I needed. When most bowlers are throwing Urethane, I’ll be throwing my Level with similar results. I tried my Level on a few different house shots and the ball seemed to check very early, which is to be expected from a Urethane alternative. If you’re like me and do not seem to have the revs for urethane then look no further than the Level.

Its a roller!
It's a new Level in bowling technology! I have a Storm 78 Urethane, It's a Level above that! I had my Level drilled to hook. Itrolls so well in my hand. I can't really say its a "league" ball for me, but its a fun ball for sure. I average 220's about 14mph, It leaves a lot of 9 counts for me playing more straighter up and in. If the shot gets a little tuff, at least I have this ball to fall back on, I know how it reacts, I know how it rolls. Sport patterns, when the league shot gets a little cliffed, over / under reaction, it is a ball to grab to get a grip on the shot. It's just amazing what Storm has done with the new technology. The ball smells pretty good also!
